Renew America’s Nonprofits

If you know a nonprofit making energy efficiency improvements to a building they own, the Renew America’s Nonprofits grant is an excellent opportunity to access funding to move the project forward.
At EnergySmart CNY and the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board we are committed to helping you understand the process and submit an application, including accessing low-cost energy audits if they have not already been completed for your building. We can also help you access other relevant programs for energy efficiency improvements. You can sign up for assistance with us here.

Do you represent a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in New York State?

Do you own the building you use to provide services and need energy conservation improvements?
Buildings owned and operated by nonprofit organizations in New York will be eligible to receive grant funds to support projects that reduce energy use and costs. The program will support energy efficiency upgrades in buildings owned by nonprofits across New York State with subrecipient grants available of up to $200,000 per nonprofit and is limited to a single building per grant award.
Sustainable Westchester is one of the nine nonprofits selected by the US Department of Energy to be awarded with the Renew America’s Nonprofit grant to help implement energy efficiency building upgrades for other nonprofit organizations in New York. The Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board, which leads the EnergySmart CNY Regional Clean Energy Hub, is pleased to be partnering with Sustainable Westchester to support local nonprofits in applying for this funding.
